Pink Ribbon Rally by Ellen Watts

On October 30, 2021, I was joined by church friends and my daughter at the Tenth Annual Pink Ribbon Rally.

Each year Dr. Amy Jo Fischer and her staff from Smiles by Design, as well as other community volunteers, create an evening of good food and fun, raising money for breast cancer patients. Through ticket sales, silent auctions and live auctions of donated items, funds are raised to help patients with those extra expenses that insurance just doesn’t cover.

Breast cancer survivors are recognized at the event and are given a small gift.  The pink fire truck is available for the survivors to sign each year.

As a 19-year breast cancer survivor, I appreciate the efforts made to raise these funds.  This rally gives me a chance to recognize and appreciate my blessings, and this year was just so much fun to be joined by church family and my daughter!
