Backpack Program

First Presbyterian Church partners with Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina’s Backpack Program in an effort to bridge the hunger gap for children.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina’s Backpack Program partners with schools and local agencies to distribute backpacks filled with food to students at risk of hunger. The Backpack Program primarily serves students in schools where 50% or more of the students receive free or reduced-price meals. The goal is to ensure that students have access to nutritious food over the weekends and during school breaks when school meals are not available.
