On Sunday, May13th, Ellen Watts, Chairman of the First Presbyterian Scholarship Committee, made the following presentation to our 2012 Scholarship Recipients, Robert Kerr and Hart Derouen.
“Robert Kerr is an expectant graduate this year from Atkins Academic and Technology High School. He will be attending North Carolina A&T State University this fall, pursuing a degree in Engineering.
Robert is a member of the Robotics Club at Atkins, and is a Crosby Scholar.
As a member of First Presbyterian Church, Robert has been involved with our Kids in Christ Program as a leader, a Vacation Bible School leader, and he has been involved in several of the mission trips. Robert has worked hard at the Holiday Market each year and has also been very involved in raising money for the mission trips. He is active in the church Youth Group, and he, also, plays the hand chimes. Robert attends Sunday School and Church services regularly. We, at First Presbyterian have had the joy of watching Robert grow into the wonderful young man he has become. We, your church family, are proud of you and so pleased to have been a part of your life. We wish you all the best your future has to offer. May God bless you richly in everything you do.
